Brussels, 23/06/2026 – Chemical Recycling Europe (CRE) is pleased to welcome SynPet Technologies, an innovative technology company dedicated to transforming plastic waste into valuable circular resources, as its newest member.
SynPet Technologies has developed the Thermal Conversion Process (TCP®), a proprietary technology that converts mixed plastic waste into Circular Naphtha Substitute (CNS®); a high-quality material that can be directly integrated into existing petrochemical production pathways. By enabling the manufacturing of new plastics without relying solely on virgin fossil resources, SynPet’s technology supports a fully circular model for plastics management, reducing dependence on fossil-based raw materials and significantly cutting carbon emissions.
Having advanced from R&D and laboratory studies to a demonstration plant in 2016, SynPet recently reached a major commercial milestone with the launch of its first commercial facility project; the Antwerp Circular Hub, now granted with the building permit as of May 2026 to be located at the Port of Antwerp. Once operational, the facility will process up to 250,000 tonnes of mixed plastic waste annually and produce Circular Naphtha Substitute (CNS®) for the petrochemical industry, helping transform difficult-to-recycle waste streams into valuable circular feedstocks that support Europe’s growing demand for recycled content.
By joining CRE, SynPet Technologies reinforces its commitment to driving sustainable innovation and supporting the scale-up of chemical recycling technologies across Europe. As a member, SynPet will collaborate with industry stakeholders, policymakers, and innovators to advance a supportive regulatory environment, share best practices, and accelerate the deployment of circular solutions.
“Joining Chemical Recycling Europe is an important step for SynPet Technologies,” said Furkan Ahmet Callialp, Chief Operating Officer at SynPet Technologies. “We look forward to working alongside fellow members to advance chemical recycling and contribute to a truly circular economy for plastics.”
Chemical Recycling Europe continues to grow its network of industry leaders committed to developing innovative solutions that reduce plastic waste, lower carbon emissions, and close the loop on materials.
About Chemical Recycling Europe (CRE)
Chemical Recycling Europe is the European association representing the chemical recycling industry. Its mission is to promote and implement innovative technologies that convert plastic waste into valuable resources, contributing to a circular economy.
About SynPet Technologies
SynPet Technologies is an international cleantech company with R&D centres in Belgium and Türkiye. Since 2012, the company has developed its patented Thermal Conversion Process (TCP®), which converts hard-to-recycle plastic waste into high-quality circular feedstocks such as Circular Naphtha Substitute (CNS®). Following successful demonstration-scale operations, SynPet is now progressing towards industrial commercialization through the development of its first full-scale facility in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges.
